Heirloom Caprese Salad

Heirloom Caprese Salad

Ingredients (per serving)

  • 2 small heirloom tomatoes (or a variety of seasonal tomatoes: cherry, Roma, Beefsteak)

  • 1 medium burrata bulb (or fresh, soft mozzarella)

  • 1 pinch kosher salt

  • 1 pinch black pepper

  • 1 sprig(s) fresh basil

  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon balsamic glaze (optional)


Directions

  1. Thinly slice heirloom tomatoes (cross-wise along the stem) with a serrated knife. Arrange the tomatoes on a plate or in a small bowl.

  2. Cut the burrata in half to expose the cream inside and place cut sides up, over the tomatoes.

  3. Drizzle olive oil and balsamic glaze

  4. Season with a pinch of salt.

  5. Tear basil leaves and place on top.
